BERENTY RESERVE GUIDED WALKS - SIFAKA LEMURS .
TOUR ROUTES :
FLY FROM TANA OR TULEAR TO FORT DAUPHIN - BERENTY RESERVE - BACK TO FORT DAUPHIN .
Day 1 : FLY FROM ANTANANARIVO OR TULEAR TO FORT DAUPHIN .
Fly from Antananarivo or Tulear to Fort dauphin. Then Take a 4WD with driver (four wheel drive) from Fort dauphin's airport to Berenty reserve . The Berenty Reserve was created half a century ago by the d'Heaulme family as a private park; in the last twenty years it has been turned into a nature reserve cum hotel . It is the easiest way to see Lemur catta and Propithecus verreauxi in the wild . Bordering the Mandrare river it is a small patch (100 hectares) of gallery and reverie forest in the middle of what used to be spiny forest and is now mostly sisal fields . The reserve is home to 5 species of lemurs , a flying fox (a large fruit bat) and 96 bird species .
After you have unpacked and rested in the bungalow style lodge you will go on a guided night walk . This is a really unique way of exploring the many nocturnal wonders of the forest .

Day 2 : EXPLORING THE RESERVE OF BERENTY WITH LOCAL GUIDE .
This is quiet reserve hidden in the jungle . A guide will take you on a walk around the zoo explaining everything you see there including many species of beautiful mammals and moths . There are also giant birds, pill bugs, crocodiles, geckos, frogs and several types of chameleons . You can watch and learn how many of the species are breed and grow up at the reserve and can even touch some of them too .

* Plants , Arthropods , Mollusc's ; Reptiles & Amphibians , Birds ; Dancing lemurs .

Day 3 : 4WD FROM BERENTY BACK TO FORT DAUPHIN . [ 80 km ]
Leave from berenty reserve in the morning after breakfast to fort dauphin . Stop on the way for the spiny forest and take a picture .

* Hotel LE dauphin .
Day 4 : FLY FROM FORT DAUPHIN TO TANA OR TULEAR .
Transfer from the hotel to the airport and then you will fly from Fort dauphin to Antananarivo or Tulear .
Please note, it is advised that you purchase your air tickets before you start the tour to avoid delays although arrangements can also be made here .
